Any sheep farms, classification centers, slaughterhouses and commercial entities that want to enroll in the program of Lamb of Extremadura P.G.I. certification should contact the Regulatory Council to apply.
Next, they should send us the printed application together with all the required documents that are detailed on the page attached to the application. Once received and reviewed, provided that all is properly filled out and complete, we proceed to notify the applicant of its receipt and the annual payment due (this depends on the specific applicable rates) and the bank account number to which the transfer needs to be made.
Beginning on the date of the aforementioned transfer’s receipt and before thirty days pass, an appointment will be made for a member of PGI Corderex’s technical team to make the necessary regulatory visit, in the presence of the owner or recognized authority, collecting the site data that permit corroboration of the information listed on the application form and evaluating the level of compliance to the specific requirements that affect the facility. (Ruling of the P.G.I. CORDEREX Order of the 9th of April, 1997, published in the D.O.E. No. 44 on the 15th of April, 1997).
Once the control regulatory visit has been made, the Technical Director will issue an evaluation that will be submitted to the Branch of the Government for their approval if it passes.
Finally, we issue the corresponding resolution, in which, in the case that it passes, we indicate the facility’s assigned registration number and the details that identify its enrollment, and in the case that it does not pass, we indicate the reasons or deficiencies detected. Against such a resolution, the applicant has the right to appeal. |
